Regent’s Park highly praised by Royal Devon & Exeter NHS

LONDON, United Kingdom, 1 November, 2012: Regent’s Park Cardiovascular Solutions Ltd. (Regent’s Park), an independent healthcare company specialising in the provision of cardiovascular solutions to the NHS, today announced it received high praise for its rapid response and efficient completion of a cath lab project at Wonford hospital, part of the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.

Bryn Webber, Cardiac Services Director of Regent’s Park said: “We were delighted to have been in a position to provide a novel solution to this Trust in a time of need. The Trust had a major waiting list issue for coronary angiography and required a rapid and affordable solution. The Trust needed an experienced partner capable of delivering a fully staffed, high quality environment within a very rapid timescale, and we were very pleased to be able to meet their expectations. We met with the Trust and by the following day had offered them a bespoke plan. This consisted of using one of our fleet of interim cardiac cath labs and a complement of 4 staff per day over 35 consecutive days. With no service operations in the south west of England we realised there would be staffing challenges. In addition, the Trust required us to perform on average 11 procedures each day or around 400 procedures over the short period and to achieve this level of operational efficiency we knew we would need to call upon some of our most experienced staff from across our field of operations. We provided staff with an average of 12 years cath lab experience, achieving all the objectives we were set and performing close to 400 procedures within budget and on time.”

Dr. Bellenger, Director of Cardiology at Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust said in a letter to the company: “Can I take this opportunity again to thank you and your team of cath lab staff for their enthusiasm and support in delivery of the mobile lab plan. The experience from all the RDE staff has been extremely positive. The service has been run very efficiently and delivered precisely what we wanted it to do for the patients here. So thank you.”

Dr. Ohri, Chief Executive of Regent’s Park, said, “It has been a privilege to work alongside the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. We always try to raise the bar for quality at Regent’s Park and I am very proud of our team and service record at Wonford hospital.” He added: “I believe this project has been executed to a very high standard for several reasons – our responsiveness, a strategy of providing high quality cath labs, detailed planning and operations management and most importantly, the professionalism of Regent’s Park staff.”

Dr. Ohri added: “I would like to use this opportunity to pay a special tribute to the following Regent’s Park staff who through their hard work made this partnership so successful:

• Radiographers: Carolyn Howarth, Susan Knight, Tim Larner. • Cardiac Physiologists: Sofia Pereira, Rentia Pienaar, Joana Teixeira, James Weatherby. • Cardiac Nurses: Penny Cantelon, Genalyn Carreon, Ron Ciocson, Pauline Hough, Petula Lemessy, Martha Muchanyuka, Lissa Philip, Diane Scaletta.
