Dr Simon Fynn

Chief Medical Officer

Dr Fynn was appointed a Consultant Cardiologist in 2004 and was awarded membership of the Medical Advisory Committee of Cambridge Heart Clinic in 2008.


Dr Simon Fynn is a Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Papworth Hospital. He is also a member of the Clinical Advisory Group of the Anglia Stroke & Heart Network and is the Network Lead for Electrophysiology.


At Regent's Park Healthcare, Dr Fynn Chairs our Clinical Governance Committee and supports our company across four key domains:


  • Overseesing our clinical governance framework and programme of clinical audit

  • Supporting our clinical development strategies

  • Identifying and keeping us abreast of key legislative and therapeutic indications


  • Managing relationships with clinical stakeholders and key opinion leaders across our industry


His training began at the University of Cambridge, where he read medicine at St. John’s College. He undertook specialist training in cardiology in Manchester before spending two years at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia, one of the world’s leading centres in cardiac electrophysiology.He specialises in the investigation and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and undertakes radiofrequency catheter ablation. He has a particular interest in the commonest heart rhythm disorder (atrial fibrillation) and received an MD from the University of Cambridge for his research in this field.In recent times he has led the development of a Family Cardiac Screening Clinic, where family members of those who have suffered a sudden and unexpected cardiac death can be screened for inherited cardiac conditions.

He has published numerous clinical and research papers on the mechanisms and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, and also on the treatment of cardiac failure using Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy.
