Winner of Armed Forces Silver Award from the Ministry of Defence

Updated: Jul 15

WILTSHIRE, United Kingdom, 15 July 2024: Regent's Park Healthcare is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a Silver Award from the Ministry of Defence for its employment support of Armed Forces veterans and their families.

Dr Ohri, CEO of RPH said: "The award is a testament to our ongoing commitment to supporting the brave men and women of our Armed Forces, as well as their families. We are proud to pledge our support and are delighted that our work within the healthcare services sector has been recognised." He added: "As a retired British Army doctor, I have been closely involved in the health and welfare of service personnel and their families across the world in both British Military hospitals and at Garrison level. This experience has instilled in me a deep respect and appreciation for the sacrifices servicemen and women make for our nation and the invaluable skills they bring to the civilian workplace - knowledge, discipline, and a ‘can-do’ attitude to name but a few."

Robin Barrass, Chief Human Resources Officer at RPH said: “Having spent 10 years working as part of the NAAFI (Navy, Army, and Air Force Institutes) with it’s close association with the Armed Forces, I came to appreciate the unique work ethos and broad perspective delivered by service personnel and this has led me to encourage recruitment targeted to ex-forces personnel." He added: "Our Company has been employing military veterans and their families over many years, and we have witnessed first-hand how their unique perspectives, honed through their service, fosters a stronger and more adaptable workforce."

Dr Ohri said: "At Regent's Park Healthcare, we firmly believe that supporting the Armed Forces community is not just the right thing to do, but also a smart business decision.”

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme encourages employers to support defence and inspire other organisations to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community and align their values with the armed forces covenant.

The Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire shall present the award to Regent's Park Healthcare at an evening ceremony on the Thursday 17th October at Devizes Town Hall.
