SALISBURY, WILTSHIRE, United Kingdom, 21 July 2025: Regent’s Park Healthcare (RPH) is proud to announce it has today received the Gold Award from the UK Ministry of Defence under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) — the highest recognition of employer support for the Armed Forces community.
In doing so, RPH becomes the First Indpendent Specialist Healthcare Group in the United Kingdom to receive this prestigious Gold Award, setting a national benchmark for the private healthcare sector.
Dr Anil Ohri, Chief Executive of RPH, said:“Receiving the Gold ERS Award from the Ministry of Defence is a deeply meaningful milestone for Regent’s Park Healthcare. For over two decades, we have actively recruited former Armed Forces personnel, recognising the extraordinary sense of duty, teamwork, and professionalism they bring. Their presence has not only enriched our care model but has strengthened the very fabric of our organisation.”
“This moment celebrates the veterans, reservists, and military spouses who are part of the Regent’s Park Healthcare family, and it strengthens our pledge to continue empowering those who have served our nation with such distinction.”
“I began my medical career as an Army doctor, and the Armed Forces hold a special place in my heart. The discipline, camaraderie, and moral clarity shaped during those formative years have guided my leadership in civilian life. That is why this award is far more than a badge. It is a reflection of our culture, our values, and our deep-rooted commitment to building a workforce that is diverse, resilient, and service-driven. And it will inspire us to go even further in the years ahead.”
Robin Barrass, Chief Human Resources Officer, added:" As the highest level of recognition an employer can receive for supporting veterans, reservists, and military families, this award carries immense pride - made even more significant by the fact that we are the First Independent Specialist Healthcare Group in the United Kingdom to receive this honour. It affirms our belief that those who have served should be at the heart of our workforce, and we are proud to lead by example.”
The Gold ERS Award is reserved for organisations that demonstrate outstanding support for the Armed Forces Covenant and integrate that commitment into their recruitment, development, and operational practices.
RPH will be formally presented with the award at a black-tie gala ceremony on Thursday 20th November 2025 at the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, Ilchester BA22 8HT.
